Seattle Brow Lift

Over time, aging, sun exposure, and gravity can cause the brows to fall lower on the face, while muscle tension and stress lead to forehead lines that add years to one’s appearance.

A brow lift gently restores the eyebrows to a more youthful, natural position, while also smoothing horizontal forehead creases. At his Seattle practice, Dr. Phil Bellocchio often combines brow lift surgery with eyelid surgery to refresh both the upper and lower eye area for a brighter, more rested look. When drooping brows are the primary cause of excess upper eyelid skin, a brow lift is the ideal solution—whereas more minor cases may be addressed with an eyelid lift alone.

Dr. Phil Bellocchio will address any questions you may have about each step of the brow lift or forehead lift process.

For patients with moderate to severe forehead lines or deep wrinkles between the brows, resurfacing treatments—often with an ablative laser such as CO₂ or erbium, or a fractional laser like Active FX—may be recommended. These can be performed prior to, as the primary treatment, or in conjunction with a brow lift and eyelid rejuvenation procedure.

Combining Procedures with Brow Lift Surgery

Brow lift surgery is commonly combined with additional procedures for enhanced facial rejuvenation.

In Seattle, patients frequently combine a brow lift with an upper eyelid lift (upper lid blepharoplasty). For those seeking additional rejuvenation, Dr. Phil Bellocchio may also recommend combining a brow or forehead lift with procedures such as facelift surgery, autologous fat transfer, or laser resurfacing to restore and maintain overall facial harmony.

Recovery from Brow Lift

Patients who undergo a brow or forehead lift with Dr. Phil Bellocchio in Seattle can usually go home the very same day with the support of a friend or loved one.

Some swelling and bruising are normal and generally fade within a week to ten days. If combined with eyelid surgery or other facial procedures, the healing period may extend a little longer, but recovery is smooth and well-supported.

Cold compresses are applied after surgery to enhance comfort and reduce swelling. Sutures within the hairline are typically removed about ten days following a brow lift. Dr. Phil Bellocchio generally advises patients to take 7–10 days off for recovery, though many are able to return to work after 5–7 days. If the brow lift is combined with other procedures such as a facelift or laser resurfacing, 14 days of recovery is recommended, though some patients may resume work in 10–12 days, provided no strenuous activity is involved.

Light aerobic exercise (elliptical, treadmill walking, stationary or recumbent bicycle) may begin 5–7 days after surgery, with more strenuous activity resuming at 2–3 weeks. Dr. Bellocchio continues to see his patients frequently during the first weeks and months of recovery, offering guidance on skin health and maintenance—including nutrition, skin care, retinols, antioxidants, and sun protection—to help preserve and maximize the rejuvenating effects of the procedure.

The Brow Lift / Forehead Lift Procedure

The forehead or brow lift can be performed using several techniques, each tailored to your unique needs.

Depending on your anatomy and goals, Dr. Phil Bellocchio may recommend a classical coronal brow lift (coronal forehead lift), or a limited-incision approach such as an endoscopic brow lift—performed with a tiny camera and specialized instruments through small incisions in the hairline—or a temporal brow lift, which uses incisions in the hairline above the outer portion of the brows.

At your consultation, Dr. Phil Bellocchio will carefully explain each option and help you choose the brow lift technique that best matches your needs and lifestyle.

The coronal brow lift involves a scalp incision hidden within the hairline, allowing for significant lifting of the brows and smoothing of deep forehead wrinkles. This approach is best suited for patients with more severe brow descent.

For most patients, less invasive methods are preferred. The endoscopic brow lift uses three to five tiny incisions within the hairline.

With the aid of a surgical camera, Dr. Bellocchio lifts and repositions the forehead tissues, smooths wrinkles, and restores a natural brow position.

A temporal brow lift targets the outer portion of the brows through two discreet incisions at the hairline. To further rejuvenate the forehead, treatments such as fat transfer or skin resurfacing with CO₂ or erbium lasers (or fractional systems like Active FX) may be recommended. These enhance skin texture while tightening fine lines.

All brow lift procedures are performed in Dr. Bellocchio’s AAAASF-certified surgical facility in Seattle, with surgery lasting 1–3 hours depending on the technique and your specific needs.
